42. Jean-Paul Najm - The Power of Finding Your Purpose

In this episode, Lance and Jean-Paul discuss the power of believing in yourself, the importance of failing, and always expressing gratitude.

Jean-Paul Najm grew up in a dangerous neighborhood with five siblings and being on welfare. He played football with the hopes of going pro but unfortunately, due to a serious back injury, he was forced to stop his athletic career. He kept pushing his limits and discovered that his true calling was always acting. Jean-Paul landed roles in movies such as Captive and Spoken Word. He produced and wrote Twelve Years to Life. He also landed numerous roles in TV shows such as Smallville the Handmaid’s Tale, Private Eyes and Taken.


Jean-Paul tells listeners: “Find your purpose. Going through life without purpose is basically driving aimlessly and not knowing where you’re headed. You need purpose, a good way to find your purpose is to be alone a little bit. There’s so much beauty in growth and being alone and undisturbed.”

As an experienced veteran with adversity, Lance has faced some of life's most difficult challenges. Grinding his way through the hockey ranks to traveling the world as a bartender. Through his personal battle with drugs and alcohol for well over a decade, the tragic loss of his brother to suicide followed by the great loss of his father to cancer only a year later, Lance realized he had hit rock bottom.
